We, Foscam.ca (aka Foscam Digital Technologies and now Amcrest Technologies), are an independent United States based distributor of 'Foscam' branded products. We have been offering telephone support, Canadian local warranty services, and building the Foscam brand in Canada for the past 7 years. However, we are deeply saddened to report that, even after all of this, our overseas suppliers have decided to undercut us and supply to our major customers directly. For this reason, we have no choice but to suspend telephone support for all Foscam branded products. The Foscam FI8910W features high quality video and audio, wireless N connectivity, pan/tilt, remote internet viewing, motion detection, night-vision, embedded IR-Cut filter as well as a built in network video recording system. In addition, it is smartphone compatible (Iphone, Android & Blackberry) as well as viewable over the internet using standard web-browsers.
In order to ensure the security of your Foscam cameras and prevent various types of hacking and unauthorized access, it is imperative that you regularly check to make sure you have the latest security firmware installed. Note: Before you upgrade, we'd like you to be aware of the procedure for updating firmware with our cameras. Failure to use the correct firmware may result in bricking your camera. If you are unsure about which firmware you need to install, please stop and contact us before you proceed. That being said, there are usually two different firmware versions for each Foscam camera model, depending on the manufacture date.The general rule is that if loading newer firmware into your camera with older firmware, you must make sure that the first four digits in the firmware number are exactly the same in both the new and older firmware before you upgrade. If they are not, you will most likely experience problems and/or brick your camera. For example if your current firmware starts with 11.22, you must make sure that the firmware you are upgrading to also starts in 11.22. The newer firmware will be distinguised from the older firmware in that the last digits in the firmware number are higher.
